The likelihood of a crash while texting is 23 times greater. Ten percent of all drivers 15-19 years old involved in fatal crashes were reported as distracted at the time of the crash, the largest proportion of drivers of all age groups.

Strategy

With online profiling and hyper-geo targeting, engage undergraduate, alumni and staff of seven Regents Universities in the state with new user interface for taking the Don’t Text #Just Drive Pledge. Augmented with sports venue events, mobilizing on-campus organizations, and intensified stakeholder communications.

Outcome

During five week period after BlueWindow involvement, pledges increased tenfold to 33,500. More importantly independent research observations by KSTRO showed 73% decrease in observed texting and driving in target markets. Initiative being extended to other lifestage segments.

Breakthrough prevalence research by BlueWindow revealed the problem gambling population in client’s state to be tenfold in size (180,000) what stakeholder treatment professionals and gaming industry experts had long believed. The consequences can be financially and emotionally devastating for families, employers, communities.

Strategy

Promote responsible gambling in public education; and connect problem gamblers and affected others via google partnership and digital ad retargeting with “moment of truth” interventions – KnowYourLimits.com, and the Helpline 800-522-4700.

Outcome

KnowYourLimits.com traffic + 500%; Helpline calls +19%, treatment by certified problem gambling counsellors +18%; 2,000 Voluntary Exclusions from licensed casinos.

Insight

Implementation of voter identification provisions of The Safe And Fair Elections Act carried the political risk of inconveniencing minority and elderly voters and non-compliance would generate burdensome provisional ballots.

Strategy

GotVoterID? Broad public awareness with particular focus on potentially disenfranchised populations; GotVoterID.com voter information; grassroots led by BlueWindow and 105 county election officials.

Outcome

“Near perfect as you get with elections” according to Deputy Secretary Brad Bryant in citing the 99.6% compliance.

Insight

Inadequate and shifting polling location availability, and the expense of administering elections in the state’s most populist region led officials to engage BlueWindow to increase early voting to relieve facilities and cost pressures, and improve the voter experience.

Strategy

JoCoPoLo.com polling locator, JoCoPoLo Mobile, Democracy Posse event coordination, retail and community partnerships, and public service advertising highlighting voter convenience and the available locator tool.

Outcome

Over 50% of voters cast early ballots in the first election cycle, five years sooner than projected and a prestigious Stars and Stripes award from the U.S. Election Center.

Insight

Restrictive contracts and work rules impeded the ability of unionized carriers to compete with more nimble non-union and parcel competitors in a de-regulated environment. TMI, the multi-employer bargaining group needed a response to demands for next generation logistics services and tiered wage structures. In-depth interviews revealed rank and file members’ deeply held values regarding their allegiances and motivations.

Strategy

Engage 27,000 Teamster members to share market realities and customer insights through intensified employee communications, pre-shift meetings, and media relations; and convey how operational and financial factors correlate to job security and prosperity.

Outcome

In face of opposition headwinds, and unfavorable ratification rules, a concessionary long-term contract was ratified 4:1 by the rank & file. Company brand equity increased $1B, preserved #1 position over all LTL carriers unionized or otherwise, and protected workforce security and seniority. Enabled innovative express, logistics, and international service solutions.
